Geckos

The Coffee Cup was our favorite hang out in Old Sukhothai. They had decent internet I used while waiting for our meals, and a nice clean bathroom.
This photo shows the ubiquitous geckos. They were just about everywhere, including inside our rooms. Some of them would make a strange calling sound which I first mistook for a parrot. Tooo Kaaaa! Tooo Kaaaa!
Someone somewhere told me that the bigger geckos have parasites in their stomachs and use their Tooo Kaaaa to call a particular snake which crawls in through their mouth and eats up the parasites and then politely exits the way it came in. A nice symbiotic relationship.
I have absolutely no idea if this is true. Maybe the fellow was just trying to gross me out or see how gullible I was. Or maybe it's true. I'd almost rather not know.
